Utah Legal Services (ULS) can only provide legal help to those who qualify in non-criminal cases. We can answer questions, give advice, prepare legal documents, and represent clients in court and before administrative agencies. We cannot assist you in any criminal matter (including traffic violations). We currently handle the following types of cases: family problems, public benefits assistance, housing, consumer issues, seniors, agricultural workers, Native American Indian law, and pro bono work such as bankruptcy, QDROs, and guardianship. Timpanogos Legal Center offers a free clinic every week for people dealing with divorces, custody battles, or other family law related issues. Clients have the opportunity to speak with an attorney about their case. The attorney will offer legal advice and provide information regarding the next steps in the situation. The concept behind the clinic is to provide a “one stop show” where clients can access services and information from several agencies, such as Community Action, the Division of Child and Family Services, Victim Advocates, the Department of Workforce Services, Centro Hispano, Housing, and Timpanogos Legal Center. You can attend the clinic in person or online. Online: TLC offers virtual clinic appointments. You can meet with an attorney on Zoom or over the phone. Email TLCinfo@timplegal.org to schedule an appointment. In-Person: TLC offers a free in-person weekly clinic. No appointment is necessary. Clients are seen on a first-come, first-served basis. Immigration law attorneys are available the first and third Tuesdays of each month. Due to COVID, if you bring your children, you may experience longer wait times as the FJC staff works to accommodate your party. If you are unvaccinated, TLC asks that you wear a mask.

This clinic is a free service sponsored by the Taxpayer Advocate Service. The purpose is two-fold: to educate and serve members of the community about their tax rights and responsibilities as well as to advocate for low-income taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) in audits, appeals, collection issues, and tax revenue cases that are in controversy or un-filed tax returns. The Community Legal Clinic provides free legal services to those in need. Español disponible. Law students under the direction of licensed lawyers provide legal advice and referrals. In some cases, they provide representation. They cover immigration law, contracts, housing, and other matters (but NOT family law).
